Noribeth Mariscal is a graduate student in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Wayne State University (WSU), pursuing an M.S. in Environmental and Sustainability Engineering. In 2020, she received a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from WSU. Her research interests include air pollution and it’s impacts on human health and the natural environment, urban agriculture, and environmental justice. Noribeth is a fellow of the NSF-NRT funded program, Transformative Research in Urban Sustainability Training (T-RUST), where she has been able to expand her research interests into a more interdisciplinary framework. Currently, she works alongside her faculty advisor, Dr. Yaoxian Huang, as part of the Huang Research Lab (www.huanglabwayne.com), where they employ chemical transport models to quantify the impacts of anthropogenic emissions on air quality, climate, and human health in Detroit.

 

Noribeth Mariscal es estudiante graduada en el Departamento de Ingeniería Civil y Ambiental de la Universidad Estatal de Wayne (WSU), cursando una Maestría en Ciencias en Ingeniería Ambiental y Sostenible. En 2020, obtuvo un bachillerato en Ingeniería Civil y Ambiental de WSU. Sus intereses de investigación incluyen la contaminación del aire y sus impactos en la salud humana y el medio ambiente natural, la agricultura urbana y la justicia ambiental. Noribeth es miembro del programa financiado por NSF-NRT, Transformative Research in Urban Sustainability Training (T-RUST), donde ha podido expandir sus intereses de investigación en un marco más interdisciplinario. Actualmente, trabaja junto a su asesor de la facultad, el Dr. Yaoxian Huang, como parte del Laboratorio de Investigación de Huang (www.huanglabwayne.com), donde emplean modelos de transporte químico para cuantificar los impactos de las emisiones antropogénicas en la calidad del aire, el clima y la salud humana en Detroit.
