Detroit AirNet

Brendan O’Leary is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and the main leader of Detroit AirNet. His research interests include groundwater in the Great Lakes Basin, volatile organic compound subsurface movement, and environmental justice. Brendan received an undergraduate degree from Allegheny College, where he double-majored in Environmental Science and Environmental Geology and a Master of Science in Geology at WSU. His master’s thesis focused on how geostatistical modeling can help better explain air pollution influences on asthma and perinatal issues. Currently, Brendan is a Thriving Earth Exchange Community Science Fellow and researching urban groundwater with Healthy Urban Waters (HUW) and Transformative Research in Urban Sustainability Training (T-RUST) programs at Wayne State University.

Brendan O'Leary es candidato a doctorado en el Departamento de Ingeniería Civil y Ambiental, además de ser el líder principal de Detroit AirNet. Sus intereses de investigación incluyen aguas subterráneas en la cuenca de los Grandes Lagos, movimiento subsuperficial de compuestos orgánicos volátiles y justicia ambiental. Brendan recibió un bachillerato en artes de Allegheny College, donde obtuvo una doble especialización en Ciencias Ambientales y Geología Ambiental, y una Maestría en Ciencias en Geología en WSU.
